Kaldorei Cosplay

Cosplay Guest

Kaldorei Cosplay began her Cosplay adventure roughly 12 years ago as a way to boost
her confidence and meet like minded friends. As her confidence grew so did her
determination to make more ambitious costumes and to push her self to learn new skills.

With a skill set highly focused around props and armour, never being one to shy away from a large scale projects.
she is always happy to set herself a challenge, Even if that means getting up ridiculously early to paint herself green!

In the past she has represented the UK at several cosplay competitions, both in the Uk itself and
internationally. Cosplay has taken a back seat recently as adult life has come a calling, but she is eager
to be back at conventions, meet new people and share her love of cosplay.

Drack Cosplay

Cosplay Guest

Drack cosplay brings larger than life creations to the masses, through big armour builds that leave the crowds in awe.

Having guested and judged across Europe he enjoys sharing his experience and skills with others, wanting to give back to a community which has given him so many memories and friendships.

Drack's foam or worbla creations are impressive and the attention to detail is inspiring.
Having started making cosplays over 10 years ago to win a pub fancy dress costume contest, he now strives for excellence and loves a challenge, be it using foam, 3D modelling and printing or moulding and casting.

An avid gamer he's thrilled to be invited to Insomnia to nerd out with as many of you as possible.

Sansanvi Cosplay

Cosplay Guest

Hi! My name is Emily (but most of my gaming friends call me Sans) and I'm better known in the cosplay world as Sansanvi Cosplay. I've been cosplaying since November 2016 and have generally just been bimbling around doing my cosplay thing and entering the odd competition ever since! I also stream occasional cosplay Work-In-Progress and otherwise RPG story-driven games like The Witcher, Mass Effect and Dragon Age, as well as Overwatch and Among Us games with friends on Twitch (when I remember!).

For me, Insomnia 59 is where it all really started. It was quite possibly the most important con of my life - my first larger competition, my first placing (and first place!), one of the judges became one of my main sources of inspiration in cosplay and in life, and I met my fiance there, so I am obviously thrilled to be coming back to i69 as a guest and judge, this is genuinely my cosplay goal and dream! From that first cosplay of Ciri from Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, cobbled together in my archery club house using the skills and knowledge of 3 very patient people willing to teach me the basics of their respective crafts, I think I've come a long way, and I'm really hoping I'll be able to inspire some people as that judge me did all those years ago and help them get into the basics of cosplay themselves, so do come over to see me and have a chat - I love hearing how people have made their cosplays and being a sounding board for crafting ideas in equal measure. Your only difficulty will be in getting me to stop talking to you once you've got me started!

I mostly specialise in video game cosplays. I've had some brief forays into anime/cartoon characters (there was a frankly heinous Yoruichi cosplay from Bleach in my early years!) but I always find myself returning to the gaming world, so I think I'm a good fit for Insomnia - I certainly keep coming back! For me, my enjoyment of cosplay definitely lies in the crafting (though don't let anyone tell you a bought cosplay is less valid if that's more your jam!) and I enjoy sharing work in progress and sharing crafting ideas and techniques on social media. There's a real challenge in trying to make the puzzle pieces fit to make a cosplay that's con-safe, within budget and that looks good and I definitely enjoy pushing myself to learn new techniques and skills to achieve those goals. Cosplay crafting is also something I really lean on for my mental health - I do have some anxiety issues but the puzzle of working out how I'll make something tricky ticking over in the back of my mind helps keep my mind focused on something useful rather than anxious thoughts. I don't consider myself a strong performer, but I also definitely have some performance strength in singing (if you saw me at i68, that was my singing on the track I performed to) as I was trained by Ex Cathedra choir in Birmingham for ten years, and having performed at places like Birmingham Symphony Hall since I was 8 I'm definitely not daunted by an audience! If I were to pick one crafting technique as my comfort zone, I'd definitely say it lies in leathercrafting (I don't think I've avoided it for any cosplay I've competed with!) however I do consider myself something of a jack of all trades - I'll try my hand at most cosplay related crafts, which gives me a wide knowledge of the basics of many techniques, though I can definitely appreciate the more technical and advanced techniques I'm yet to master!

Cosplay Guest

I’ve been cosplaying since 2017, my first cosplay was actually Roadhog from Overwatch.
I cosplay to build confidence and to make people smile. The cosplay community has always been an incredible source of inspiration and creativity as they are full of crazy ideas with ‘out the box’ thinking, I find they will always work, like a bunch of mad scientists.

My best cosplay would have to be my Buzz Lightyear, he is mostly foam besides the joints and dome which are bolts and an acrylic dome which I can close and open at will. There’s also the fan favorite The Nameless King from Dark Souls 3 and Big Daddy Delta from Bioshock 2

I’d consider myself a modder, so the most recent part I’ve modded would be my Bioshock helmets battery to run on a interchangeable battery pack that I can run on AA Batteries rather than a specific, hard to find battery. Makes running the lights and fans inside the helmet so much easier to wear for longer periods of time.

I’m honestly excited to come to insomnia as I’ve been a big gamer for a long time, so I’m looking forward to connecting to others who also enjoy the brutal challenge of Dark souls and the atmospheric story telling of Bioshock.

Naomi Fenton

Cosplay Guest

Despite cosplaying for just five years, I've been swiftly gaining a reputation for my shape-shifting, gender-bending abilities. Having cosplayed over 160 characters so far, I've had to figure out all sorts of hacks for various budgets with strange materials, dipping into a slew of different media and fandoms, and learning a few secrets from my experience in the film industry as an actress and film-extra.
I'm so incredibly excited to be making my guest appearance here at Insomnia 69, where I'll be more than happy to share some of my favorite tricks with you!

Cosplay: The Gathering - Community

Nice to meet all you lovely costumers and cosplayers alike! If you want to know a little bit about me, I have been an avid cosplayer for 10 years now, though it only became serious in the last 3 years when I started to branch out into social media and helping my community to reach their potential.

Though I have been cosplaying for many years I always found it more rewarding to give advice and collab with my fellow cosplayers then it was to reach a goal of Notoriety using my following more of a way to connect with others And make everyone smile . I wear a combination of homemade and bought Costumes, although as time went by I found simply getting into a costume my favourite part!

Cosplay, to me, is bringing the characters I love to life. I enjoy bringing smiles to both kids and adults as I bring their beloved characters to life in the real world! My favourite cosplay to date is hard to choose, as time as gone on I found the ones that brought the most smiles where the best for example my Ariel dead pool made people laugh and my Wraith from apex legends had people in awe of the detail I can’t wait to meet everyone and being smiles to you all!

Atom Cosplay

The Foundry: Props & Armour

Atom has featured in everything from Syndicate videos to on the side of buses! Having recently performed alongside Microsoft, Atom Cosplay is equipped to answer any question about cosplay; from how to build foam armour to how to handle working in the professional environment.

‘I never really knew cosplay existed at first. I made costumes for fancy dress parties and Halloween, I entered my first Masquerade and fell in love. I work mainly with eva foam, expanding foam, cardboard etc, and love to upcycle/recycle anything into a costume. Since getting the hang of Foam Smithing, I’ve started adding motors, LEDs and even home made smoke machines into my cosplays.’
